in a first class expose on how the Pentagon's "well-placed hawks"
are muzzling the CIA so that intelligence data that contradicts
the case for war is not presented to the White House. Dreyfus is
blunt: "For Perle, Wolfovitz and Feith an attack on Iraq is a strategic
necessity, not because Saddam Hussein is a threat, but because America
needs to display an overwhelming show of force to keep unruly Arabs
and Muslims all over the world in line." However, Dreyfus still
cannot mention the elephant in the room, namely that these
well-placed hawks are Jewish-Americans and it is their hard-core
Zionism that is shaping American foreign policy.

The Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland was established
in 1899 to campaign for a permanent homeland for the Jewish people.
At that time, Palestine was a distant and neglected province of
the Turkish Empire with a Jewish population of approximately 50,000.
Herzl was working towards obtaining permission for Jews to settle
in Palestine but had reached deadlock in his negotiations with the
Sultan. In the United Kingdom, the leaders of the Jewish Community
had not shown support to the Zionist Movement and it was left to
the few committed members of the Zionist Federation, men and women
of faith and vision who were convinced that history and truth were
on their side to support Herzl.
It was from this narrow base that the Zionist Federation became
the centre of which Chaim Weizmann and his small band of British
Zionists waged their struggle for a Jewish State. In 1917, the Balfour
Declaration was communicated to Lord Rothschild and the letter from
the British Foreign Secretary concluded "I should be grateful if
you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist
Federation".
During the next 30 years London became the centre of the World
Zionist Movement. In the Zionist Federation's home at 77 Great Russell
Street the Jewish Agency established its main political office and
conducted government negotiations whilst the Zionist Federation
secured Jewish and general support as well as financial assistance
for the movement.
Among others, it was the leadership of the Zionist Federation
who founded WIZO, UJIA, JNF and Youth movements. After the establishment
of Israel, many of the graduates of the Zionist Federation became
leaders in the new State.
In 1954 the Zionist Federation via the Zionist Federation Education
Trust (now known as Scopus) created a network of Zionist Day Schools
to educate Jewish children in the spirit of Zionism. The Zionist
Federation Education Trust set up 14 schools with over 5000 pupils.
The British Zionist Federation was also the first in the world
to set up its own office in Israel to assist in the integration
of British Olim. The Zionist Federation today represents the UK
Zionist Movement more than 120 organisations, and over 50,000 affiliated
members.

As
Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, said
in 1895, when speaking of the Arabs of Palestine: “Spirit the penniless
population across the frontier by denying it employment... Both
the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be
carried out discreetly and circumspectly.”
Israel
is a state that was born of terror. Not that you’d
guess this from Oren’s account. He does admit that “up to a million
Arabs” had to leave Palestine in 1948; but nowhere does he document
the terrible brutality of Israel’s founders which led to that mass
exodus. It’s all conveniently contextualized, or buried as part
of the consequences of war.
Actually,
many if not most Arabs were forcibly
driven off their historic land. Some 800,000 of the
approximately 900,000 Palestinians who originally lived in the area
that became Israel were forced to flee
as a result of a systematic campaign of intimidation, massacres
and internationally recognized ethnically-motivated mass expulsions.
When the Jewish state was created, approximately 400 Palestinian
towns and villages were depopulated by Jewish armed groups under
the cover of the war, and were razed to the ground.
...Oren’s
intention, here as elsewhere, is clear: to show that Arabs hated
Israel primarily because it represented a kind of “democratic, civilized
ideal” that threatened the Arab world’s autocratic order. Arabs
in fact hated, and still hate, Israel not because of anti-Semitism
or because they can’t bring themselves to appreciate the virtues
of democracy but because Israel has murdered their fellow Arabs
in the tens of thousands and pillaged their villages and occupied
their countries and later their Muslim and Christian holy sites.

George W. Bush last month accused Baghdad, along with Iran and North
Korea, of making up an "axis of evil" bent on backing international
terrorism and developing weapons of mass destruction. It seems that
Senator Joseph Lieberman has convinced the President that Bagdad is
a threat to the United States and launching a military attack seems
to be the only alternative. Other close advisors such as Deputy Secretary
of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and the Defense Chairman of the Advisory Board,
Richard Perle, are also calling for the bombing of Iraq as the only
sure method of destroying this threat. When Joseph Lieberman says that
it's necessary to attack Iraq because Iraq is a threat to the United
States, does he really think that smart Americans believe this? Does
he really think that Iraq would attack the United States?
...So
why did Senator Joseph Lieberman convince President Bush to focus on
Iraq as a threat? I'll tell you why. It's not the United States that
Senator Lieberman is concerned about. We know that Iraq is not a threat
to the United States. Iraq is a threat to Israel. Senator Lieberman
and other pro-Israelis in Washington don't want anyone else in the Middle
East to own Nuclear weapons except Israel. It's Israel, not the United
States, that Lieberman is concerned about. And he is willing to risk
American lives and American money to insure that Israel is the super
power in the Middle East. Isn't it odd that while Lieberman is pushing
for a bombing of Iraq, it's the Israelis who are inflicting most of
the casualties in Middle East with its current bombing campaign. In
just the last 2 days the Israelis have killed 29 Palestinians, and most
of them are innocent civilians including children. Iraq hasn't killed
anyone since the Gulf War, and that's been 11 years ago. In just the
last 17 months the Israelis have killed over 900 Palestinians and have
demolished more than 300 homes causing more than 1500 children to become
homeless. And the Israelis have been doing this with F-16 fighter jets,
M1A1 Abram tanks, 155mm howitzers, Chaparral and Sidewinder missiles,
and Apache and Cobra attack helicopters all supplied by the good 'ole
United States.

2, 2002, the Senate of the U.S. passed a notorious pro-Israel Resolution
(S. Res. 247), with respect to the Mid-East controversy. Its co author
was Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-CT). In pushing the measure, he barked,
“You are either with us or the terrorists” (Washington Times, May 3,
2002). Who is this “us” he is talking about?
The measure
falsely equated the U.S.’s post-9/11 fight against terrorism with Israel’s
brutal occupation of the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank
and Gaza. It also condoned Israel’s vicious military attacks on Jenin,
Ramallah and Bethlehem.

Until

in the west; and Israel's immunity from truthful media criticism has

Merely

Territories, "has been the huge bluff of the Israeli establishment.

Berakoth 58a the Talmud uses Ezekiel 23:20 as proof of the sub-human
status of gentiles. It also teaches that anyone (even a Jewish man)
who reveals this Talmudic teaching about non-Jews deserves death, since
revealing it makes Gentiles wrathful and causes the repression of Judaism.

prominent Jewish rabbi considered Israel as a state standing "against
God, against Torah, and against the Jewish religion." He added that
it caused many tragic events to both Palestinians and Jews.
The
Zionist movement,
he said, that was behind establishing the Israeli state, is
based on blood shedding, destruction, killing and terrorism.
On the other hand, he supported the right of Palestinians in resistance
and restoring their complete usurped homeland.
...Most
of the Jews, up to the second world war,
the rabbi said, were extremely opposed to the
Zionist movement.
They
accused Zionists of turning Judaism from a spiritual religion into a
racist secular movement.
Theodore
Hertzel, founder of the Zionist movement, was not a religious Jewish.
He exploited the Jewish religion to distract and misguide the Jews.
The rabbi
recalled that the Zionist forces used to blast off the Jewish temples
and scare the Jews so that they might emigrate and usurp the land of
Palestine from the original owners.
The man
squarely accused the Zionists and the occupying Israeli army of committing
carnage, heinous massacres against the Palestinian as well as against
the Jewish people.
He termed
the Palestinian resistance a legitimate action
and normal reaction against Zionist offenses.

A Jewish
world organization was founded in 1912 on the German-Polish border with
the specific purpose of fighting Zionism. This organization, Agudath
Israel, "Union of Israel," was to represent the true Jewish people in
the world and to unmask the unwarranted and unjust claims of the Zionists.
Rabbis everywhere joined Agudath Israel, as did masses of observant
Jews. Anti-Zionist congresses were convened in Vienna and in Marienbad.
In countries such as Poland, Agudists were members of parliament. Under
Agudah leadership more than 50 years ago, Jews in the Holy Land opposed
to Zionism obtained permission from Britain, the mandatory power in
Palestine, to declare in writing that they did not wish to be represented
by the Zionists or any of their groups, particularly not by the Zionist
quasi-governmental organizations such as the Va'ad Leumi, "National
Council."
Shortly
thereafter, Jacob de Haan, a former distinguished Dutch diplomat who
was then leader of Agudath Israel in Palestine, initiated talks with
Arab leaders with a view toward the eventual establishments of a state
there in which Jews and Arabs would have equal rights. In this way he
hoped to forestall the creation of a Zionist state. Despite threats
to his life, de Haan, fully aware of the ultimate dangers of a Zionist
state, continued his talks and negotiations. On the eve of his departure
in 1924 for Britain to meet with authorities there, he was assassinated
by the Haganah, the Zionist paramilitary force, in the center of Jerusalem
as he came from evening prayers.
